How to use this guidance?

This guidance is split into 2 major parts:

1. The first part contains in detail how to deal with major environmental issues on company level, such as water / waste water, air, waste, product safety, integrated pollution prevention and control and chemicals (in the website manual referred as “Areas of focus in the company”).
2. another is focussed on the voluntary environmental instruments for advanced performance.

In addition, you can also find some other supportive chapters, such as useful contacts, list of abbreviations.

All subchapters on the major environmental issues for the company follow the same structure:

1. relevance of the issue to the branch,
2. supply chain aspects,
3. practical tools,
4. hints for good practice,
5. legislation,
6. further information sources.

When searching for the more comprehensive topic-specific information (e.g. chemicals management) for your company, you find it in the top horizontal menu and then go deeper to the area of interest.

Through the horizontal menu at the bottom you can reach the concrete tools of interest (e.g. examples of good practices) for any area directly.
